SaferBuilding

Properties that qualify for the SaferBuilding™ Certification have seen increased property values of 7-10%. It makes sense: if two properties were identical - one had toxic residue and the other did not, which property would be more valuable?

A SaferBuilding certificate is a tool which lets potential buyers and tenants understand that this property is maintained according to a known third-party standard, and of higher quality than those maintained in a more toxic fashion.

Buy this certification form when selling or renting properties to potentially increase the property value, attract a wider selection of prospective tenants, and offer greater liability protection.

If you've already purchased a certification, please sign-in & select address to access it.

Certification costs $70 per property,
a tiny fraction of the increased property value.

Obligations

You must agree to maintain the building according to the SaferBuilding™ Materials and Methods if you post the certificate!

Landlords

If you rent to a tenant using this Certification, charging extra rent, then you need to continue to maintain the building to the SaferBuilding™ Standards.

We also have recommendations for the lease so that your tenants don't interfere.

Apartments & Condominiums

Certain units may qualify while others do not. We recommend getting certified in between tenants rather than attempting while an existing tenant is there.

When filling out the forms, interior parts apply to the interior of the unit. Exterior parts apply to the entire building.

How it works

You fill out a series of questionnaires, and if the property qualifies, you can immediately download your certificate. Some of the questions are very detailed, so you may need to fill out what you can and come back to fill out the rest later. Remember your Sign -In ID so that you can save time.

Likelihood of qualification.

We do not offer refunds, even if the property doesn't qualify. Note: we have three different levels of certification so even if it doesn't qualify for Gold it may qualify for a different level.

To get an idea of whether the property is likely to qualify you may want to fill out the Environmental Disclosure Forms for that property, for a fee of $20.
